The Culture Society of People with Disabilities - Nepal (CSPD-Nepal) is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering empowerment, inclusion, and creativity among people with disabilities. Founded with a mission to transform lives, CSPD-Nepal provides a supportive platform for individuals to express their talents, develop skills, and engage in meaningful opportunities that celebrate their abilities. Sarita Thulung is a dynamic Nepalese entrepreneur, social worker, athlete, choreographer, theater actor, and podcast creator, dedicated to advancing the rights and empowerment of individuals with disabilities. As Chairperson of the Culture Society of People with Disabilities - Nepal (CSPD-Nepal), she leads with unwavering commitment to inclusion and innovation through sports, entertainment, skills development, education, and cultural programs. A celebrated gold medalist in powerlifting, swimming, and wheelchair basketball, Sarita exemplifies resilience and determination. Her achievements in competitive sports underscore her belief in the transformative power of physical activities for personal and community growth. Beyond her athletic success, Sarita is an entrepreneur, operating a business that champions Nepali cultural products while promoting economic independence and cultural pride. Sarita’s advocacy extends into the media landscape, where she utilizes creative platforms to amplify voices and stories of individuals with disabilities. Her ongoing podcast project, Blind Rock, delves into disability empowerment and raises awareness about the lived experiences of the disability community.

Our History

The Cultural Society of Persons with Disabilities-Nepal (CSPD-Nepal) was founded in 2074 BS (2017 AD) with the collective vision of nine individuals with disabilities, united by their shared determination to foster inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity. Driven by resilience and a commitment to creating change, these trailblazers set out to build an organization that would serve as a platform for amplifying the voices and talents of individuals with disabilities across Nepal. From its humble beginnings, CSPD-Nepal was officially registered in Bagbazar, Ward 28 Municipality, holding Registration No. 000000236 at the municipality level and Registration No. 519 with the District Administration Office. Additionally, the organization proudly carries its Social Welfare Council Affiliation No. 55549 and PAN Account No. 607476309, affirming its commitment to adhering to the legal framework of Nepal's nonprofit sector. Since its establishment, CSPD-Nepal has actively pursued initiatives that promote sports, arts, skills development, education, and cultural awareness for individuals with disabilities. Through talent showcases, competitions, advocacy campaigns, and inclusive events, the organization strives to break down barriers and create spaces where abilities are celebrated and potential is nurtured.
